The remake of Tamil film Kathi being directed by V V Vinayak in Telugu with megastar Chiranjeevi in the lead role has completed its first schedule.
The second schedule for 10 days is going to commence shortly. Ironically, there has been no confirmation as to who the heroine would be in the film.
Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan, who is producing the film, has already contacted several Bollywood heroines and now, he is exploring all the options in Telugu industry as well.
According to reports, Charan is learnt to have contacted Kajal Agarwal, who had acted with him in quite a few films. Of late, Kajal has been facing a series of flops and naturally, one would expect her to jump with joy for getting the offer to act beside Chiranjeevi in such a prestigious movie.
However, the hush talk is that Kajal is not prepared to accept the offer, unless she is paid a remuneration of Rs 2.5 crore.
She does not want to just get carried away by the past glory of Chiranjeevi and sign the film blindly. If she agrees to act beside 60-year old Chiranjeevi, there is every possibility that she might lose the opportunities to act beside younger heroes. So, she wants the payment in tune with this risk.
Though she is right in her own way, her demand for such a high remuneration has shocked the film makers!
