Adoption Of Villages: Using For Film Promotion?

Mahesh Babu had announced his intention of adopting a village each in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states during the release time of "Srimanthudu", a film that stressed on the importance of adopting village.

Mahesh then announced that he would be working on making his native village - Burripalem in Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh into a model village. After some time he also announced adopting a village in Telangana.

A year later, Mahesh Babu visited "Burripalem village" and handed over cheques to the villagers for various programs, and gave away health cards to the needy. All these are from the government programs.

Although his wife Namrata visited the village earlier and Galla Jayadev was involving in the development works, Mahesh Babu visiting the village at the time of release of "Brahmotsavam" has raised the questions. Many are commenting that he is using this for his movie promotions.

The announcement of adopting the villages came at the time of  release of "Srimanthudu" and now his visiting the village has happened days before the release of "Brahmotsavam".

So, the social media is abuzz with the comments that though he has ideal intentions, he is also using these for self promotion.
