The first weekend collections of 'Majnu' that features Nani in the lead role are fairly good. The film started off on a dull note but it had growth on Saturday by grossing 148k dollars on that day.
Since the film was not promoted well before the release, the buzz around the film was pretty dull. Hence the Thursday premieres were so low.
As the film received 3 rating from critics, it saw a noticeable jump in the collections on Friday and Saturday. But on Sunday the collections were pretty ordinary. Overall, the $390 plus is a good amount for the opening weekend for Nani’s movie. All his recent movies are receiving minimum of $400k dollars in the first weekend.
Still, doubts remain whether this could be break-even project for the distributors in USA as the film was bought for high price. It needs to collect a gross of 750 to 800k dollars by end of its run to bring profits to the distributors.

On the other hand, NTR’s “Janatha Garage” has finally touched the 1.80 million mark in its fourth week. The movie grossed 1.70 dollars in its second weekend but it took two more weeks of the time to reach the 1.80 dollars mark.
Nara Rohit and Naga Shourya starrer “Jyo Achyuthananda” has added some more moolah it is third weekend and crossed 600k dollars mark. It now stands with the gross of $602k.
