Behind The Scene: Sonia sends warning note to KK!
The suspension of three Congress MLAs, cancellation of associated membership status to another MLA and issuance of show-cause notice to one more Congress MLA was a shock not only to these MLAs, but also to PCC president K Kesava Rao.
Though the suspension orders were signed by Kesava Rao himself, he was forced to do so, following the orders from none other than AICC president Sonia Gandhi. It was rather a parting shot from Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy before leaving for the US on Saturday night. He reportedly had a telephonic talk with Sonia Gandhi and informed her of the growing dissidence activity in the party, which was being abetted by Kesava Rao himself. And the very next day, Sonia sent a warning note to Kesava Rao and asked him to take action against rebels, starting with those MLAs who had betrayed the party in the MLC elections.
Gandhi Bhavan sources say it was rather unexpected for Kesava Rao, who thought the high command would let them up with a stern warning, as they are all strong candidates in their respective constituencies. And it was also a warning to Kesava Rao himself. A person known to change his colours quick, Kesava Rao is now posing himself as a loyalist of YSR and has started warning dissidents, even as more and more disgruntled Congress leaders are joinining the bandwagon of dissident MLAs!
