Behind The Scene: Show of Strength between YSR and PJR!
The APCC plenary, also dubbed as rededication day, witnessed a show of strength between two arch rivals in the Congress in Andhra Pradesh -- Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Redddy and Khairataba legislator P Janardhan Reddy. Both the leaders ensured that there were enough of their supporters at the plenary. After all there were AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh and AICC secretary Iqbal Singh on the dais. Proving their individual strengh was a political neccessity for them.
When PJR stood up to address the gathering and confined him to indirectly criticising YSR and his Pothireddypadu head regulator works, he ensured that his followers raised slogans in his favour. The slogans continued for some time. In the meantime word went to the followers of YSR that things were getting out of hand. So YSR loyalists too started raising slogans and forced PJR to stop his address. YSR does not want to get a bad name before Digvijay. He wanted to prove that he was quite accommodative to his rivals. So YSR stood up and declared that there was no differences between him and PJR though they differ on issues. This was an indirect signal to his loyalists to keep quiet.
PJR continued his speech and this time with more vigour and force. He pointed out lapses in the State administration. He also demanded a separate State for Telangana.
Whatever had taken place behind the scene, it became quiet clear that YSR has overshadowed PJR when it comes to "vocal" power. And what about the muscle power? Let's wait and watch some political action in future.
