Behind The Scene: Panabaka joins dissidents camp?
Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Panabaka Lakshmi appears to have joined the camp of dissidents against Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy.
The unceremonious suspension of Surveypalli legislator Adala Prabhakar Reddy and Udayagiri legislator, Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy is learnt to have angered Panabaka Lakshmi, who was earlier supporting YSR. These two MLAs have been the backbone of Panabaka in protecting her interests in Nellore.
She is of the view that the Nedurumalli Janardhan Reddy family, which was desperate in getting their candidate C V Sesha Reddy elected as an MLA, was responsible for the suspension of the two MLAs. Ongole MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy is also backing Panabaka on this count. On the other hand, Anam brothers, who also secretely worked for the defeat of Sesha Reddy, turned the tables completely and are now supporting the Chief Minister, since one of them – Ramnarayana Reddy, has become the minister in the State Cabinet.
Incidentally, Panabaka is all set to lose her Nellore constituency, which is going to be a general seat. And YSR has not come to her rescue so far. This is also one of the reasons for Panabaka joining the dissidents' camp.
