Fact Sheet: KK adds fuel to dissidence fire!
Maverick
Pradesh Congress Committee president K Kesava Rao, who has
the responsibility to dissuade dissidence in the party, seems
to be adding fuel to the fire.
While Chief Minister Dr Y
S Rajasekhar Reddy was trying persuade the disgruntled "chairmen"
of regional boards – Muddu Krishnama Naidu, P Sambasiva
Raju, G Venkat Reddy and V Purushottam Reddy to accept the
posts, Kesava Rao spoke in an insulting tone, hurting them
to their hearts. The Chief Minister managed to convince Purushottam
Reddy, but the other three had their own reasons to reject
the posts as they felt it was below their dignity.
In the normal course, Kesava
Rao, as a party president, should have spoken to them and
understand their feelings. Instead of doing that, the PCC
president said there was no guarantee that those who worked
as ministers in the past should get the Cabinet berths again
and that the chairpersons should have accepted the Chief Minister's
offer.
Apparently hurt by KK's
comments, Muddu, Sambasiva and Gade brought it to the notice
of the Chief Minister and said it would be better not to accept
any posts, rather than facing such humiliations.
