Behind The Scene: Dubai Shekar floors advantage!
The tremendous credibility gained by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi president after the byelections to Karimnagar Lok Sabha seat in December last has been completely lost, with one statement of party president K Chandrasekhar Rao (aka Dubai Shekar) that he is willing to join the UPA government again.
Political observers say the TRS president has floored the advantage of emerging as a major force in Telangana, as he himself had announced that the TRS would get more than 100 Asssembly seats and a dozen Lok Sabha seats to put pressure on the Central government for securing Telangana State. By saying that the TRS would return to the UPA fold, it has not only created confusion among the party cadres and Telangana sympathisers, but also led to the impression that KCR is itching to become the Union Minister again.
Nobody will accept the rider in KCR's statement that he would go back to the UPA "only if there is a clarity on Telangana," as headlines suggest that he is eagerly waiting to become a minister. Moreover, there are no open indications from the Congress as of now for formation of a Telangana State, as being claimed by KCR. But his statements have only given a political advantage to the State Congress leaders, who were quick in saying the party stand on Telangana was clear and there were no fresh assurances to the TRS president.
