Behind The Scene: Now, Maoist "threat" for CPI-M
Whether Home Minister K Jana Reddy said deliberately or inadvertantly that the Communist Party of India (Marxist) leaders and workers are acting like Maoists in occupying the government land, the police have got the clue from his words on how to deal with the agitating CPI-M workers, who have become a headache for the government of late.
In many places, the CPI-M leaders have started accusing the police of implicating them in false cases stating that they had links with outlawed Maoists. The left party leaders are being taken into custody and treated in third degree methods for their alleged links with Maoists.
For instance, a CPI-M MLA from Nagur inVizianagaram, Kolaka Lakshmana Murty, was implicated in a false by the police, stating that he had links with Maoists. Lakshmana Murthy only led a dharna in front of a police station in support of tribal youth who were being whisked away by special combing parties in the recent past. A panicky Murthy is running around the Home Ministry to wriggle out of the case.
