Behind The Scene: AICC tells YSR to shed his ego!
Three years into power, the
Congress has realised that YSR is turning autocratic day by
day. The "rededication day" held on Monday (May
14) has come handy for the AICC to send strong message to
YSR to mend his style of functioning. Though in a subtle way
the AICC leadership has told Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar
Reddy to shed his ego and be accommodative to all, particularly
his rebels.
It seems Sonia Gandhi has told AICC general secretary Digvijay
Singh, who is incharge of Congress affairs in Andhra Pradesh,
to inform YSR that the honeymoon period is now over and it
is time YSR pulled up his socks and work for the victory of
the Congress.
Digvijay Singh, though he addressed a number of meetings in
Hyderabad earlier, never used such a language at a public
meeting. He told Congressmen that the honeymoon is over and
the Congressmen should forget their differences and work for
the victory of the party.
AICC secretary V Hanumanth Rao also told YSR that in the first
three years he had accommodated all his loyalists and now
it's time for him to accommodate others too.
Given his "stubborn" attitude, it is to be seen
whether YSR changes his track and takes all along with him.
