Fact Sheet: ACB under pressure from political bigwigs!
The sleuths of Anti
Corruption Bureau who raided the premises of the former district
superintendent of police J G Murali on Saturday last are reportedly
under tremendous pressure from the political bosses, obviously
because the investigations would unearth his links with several
political bigwigs.
The ACB authorities have come
to know that the Murali case is not a simple one, but has
a large scale network operating behind him. The ACB officials
are inquiring into the role of the task force personnel who
were appointed in these land deals. It was learnt that Murali
used to involve in land deals with the help of these task
force personnel in connivance with one of the ruling party
MLAs in the district.
Sources say Murali is pretty
confident that nothing would happen to him, as any further
investigations into the scandal would bring out stratling
facts about the role of politicians. The ACB authorities are
learnt to have received instructions to go slow in the investigations
and confine themselves to Murali. They are also asked not
to interact with the media, so that the issue would subside
gradually and the people would forget about it in a few days.
