Fact Sheet: KCR's one-man show hurts leaders!
The Vishwaroopa Sabha held by the Telangana Rashtra Samiti in Warangal has not boosted up the morale of the party leadership; and on the other hand, it has resulted in a lot of disgruntlement among the party leaders, particularly in Warangal and Karimnagar districts.
Several TRS leaders expressed dissatisfaction over the way the meeting turned out to be a one man show by the party chief K Chandrasekhar Rao. Except for two routine speakers – K Jayashankar and R Vidyasagar Rao – known to be "chamchas" of KCR, no other person was allowed to speak and even the resolutions were read out by KCR himself. The party leaders including MPs, MLAs, and other second rung leaders were not happy for not getting the chance to address the meet.
"In the absence of the suspended party leader A Narendra, the party chief is acting like a monarch and was snubbing other leaders. We are totally upset the way KCR had hijacked the public meet," TRS MP B Vinod Kumar, who had worked relentlessly for the past two weeks in making arrangements for the meeting and in public mobilisation. TRS floor leader in Assembly G Vijayarama Rao, too, was denied a chance to address the meet.
And topping it all, the KCR's much awaited speech at the meet turned out to be a stale and dull affair and did not get any attract the crowds, who were expecting fire works from his speech. Adding to the insults, it was learnt that the party chief took the local leaders to task for their "poor" mobilisation.
