Megastar Chiranjeevi's daughter Srija, who shot into media limelight by eloping with her boyfriend Sirish Bharadwaj and marrying him openly, was caught on the wrong foot.
Srija and Sirish seem to have thought they had become national figures, thanks to the media glare; and so, they might have thought it would be a cake walk for them to get an appointment with Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy during the latter's visit to New Delhi on Saturday. They informed the media persons well in advance about their plan to see the Chief Minister and take his blessings; so as to send a message to Chiranjeevi that they had the support of even the Chief Minister.
But their plan boomeranged on them. Within minutes of they sought an appointment with the Chief Minister, the information was passed on to Chiranjeevi, who had requested the CM's Office not to entertain the couple, who had brought so much disgrace to his family. YSR, too, was not interested in meeting the couple, as he had earlier talked to Chiranjeevi and expressed sympathies with him. Moroever, the officials told the Chief Minister how Srija and Sirish complained to the Delhi High Court against the inefficiency of the State police in providing security to them. Keeping this in mind, he did not give audience to the newly-wed couple.
One thing Srija forgot that it was because of Chiranjeevi that she could get so much attention from the media and the court. So, it would be foolish on her part to complain to the Chief Minsiter against her father and expect support to her silly moves!
