Don’t get excited, Ramulamma tells TRS

When the entire rank and file of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi was celebrating the party’s resounding victory in the by-elections at the Telangana Bhavan, party MP from Medak Vijayashanti kept herself isolated and aloof from the celebrations.

When media persons approached her at her residence, Vijayashanti was somehow not very enthusiastic, though she said she was very happy with the verdict, though it was on expected lines. However, she sounded a word of caution to the elected TRS candidates and also the party leadership. “Let the success not go to their heads and the people’s faith in the party should not be belied. The party has to grow stronger and stronger and instead of taking wrong steps as was done in the past, the party leaders have to take every step seriously. The same spirit and enthusiasm should be shown in the local body elections, too,” she said.

The Medak MP, however, was extremely happy over the victory margin of T Harish Rao at Siddipet, which falls under her Lok Sabha constituency. “I thank my constituency people for reposing faith in my party,” she said.
