The Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders are suffering from some kind of media fobia these days. They are viewing with suspicion every media person and accused them of being anti-Telangana.
On Friday, TRS official spokesman G Jagadeeshwar Reddy announced a sort of ban on the entry of media persons into the Telangana Bhavan. He told media persons that they should not to come to the Telangana Bhavan on their own. “If we have any information, we will call for a media conference. There is no place for media in the Telangana Bhavan without any invitation,” he said.
This was a sort of humiliation for the media. It is natural that reporters and media persons representing various newspapers and channels, covering a particular political beat, go the respective party offices to report on the day to day developments. Sometimes, they would stay there all through the day. It happens everywhere – Gandhi Bhavan, NTR Trust Bhavan and even Chiranjeevi’s office. Nowhere is there any restriction on them.
If TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao treats media with contempt, he will have to face a reciprocal behaviour from the media. From now on, media may not cover any press meet of the TRS leaders!
