Tollywood: 350 crs of Money At Stake

Starting with Mahesh Babu's Srimanthudu this week, we are going to witness a flurry of new releases in the coming three months. About 300 to 400 Crores of rupees of business will happen in this period. 

Mahesh Babu's Srimanthudu has already been sold to various distributors for fancy rates that reportedly brought in more than Rs 60 Crores to the producers. The movie is set for release on August 7th worldwide.

Ravi Teja's much-delayed Kick 2 is also releasing this month which again has done a business to the tune of Rs 30 Crores.

August will not only see these two movies but also small movies like 'Bhale Bhale Magadivoy' and all together the business for these three movies is worth more than Rs 100 Crores. 

In September, we will see even bigger movies with the onset of Gunashekar's high budgeted historical 3D film, Rudramadevi (September 4th), and Tamil superstar Vijay's graphical extravaganza, Puli (September end). Two young heroes Ram and Sai Dharam Teja are also in the race with their respective movies Shivam (September 17th) and Subramanyam For Sale (September 24th). The business of these four movies can be put together for about Rs 80 - 100 Crores.

In October, Ram Charan will make a staggering business of Rs 70 Crores with his new movie that also stars megastar Chiranjeevi in a cameo appearance. Directed by Srinu Vaitla, this untitled film is set for October 15th release.

Also in the race in the month of October is Akhil Akkineni's maiden film directed by V V Vinayak. The movie's business too is being done like a Mahesh Babu or Ram Charan movie, close to 60 Crores of rupees. The film is set for October 21st release.

October will also see the release of Kanche, director Krish's movie with Varun Tej. If possible, Ravi Teja might also throw his weight with Bengal Tiger during the same period.

Such big movies have lined up for release this festive season of three months with a astounding Rs 350 Crores of money at stake.
