TEAM Deepavali 2015 - Grand Success in MN!

Jubilation, exuberance, and excitement of festivity is all over, as TEAM (Telugu Association of Minnesota) celebrated its signature event Deepavali on Saturday November 14, 2015.

A record crowd attended the event with packed house at Jefferson High school Bloomington, Minnesota. Many businesses, charitable, and social organizations setup the marketing stalls, which were busy and buzzing with activity throughout the evening.

One of the visiting parents said it looks like a “Mall - a TEAM Mall” which is a true testimony for TEAM reputations in its popularity among community and businesses in twin cities of Minnesota.

As the auditorium corridors and hall ways are filled with people socializing and marketing activities, cultural events inside the hall are filled with excitement of energetic performances of all genres. The evening’s program started with traditional Deepavali pooja.

TEAM Cultural Director Sandhya Lankalapally welcomed the audience while stating that there are about 30 wide varieties of programs with a large contingent of 220 participants.

The TEAM Deepavali Dhamaka started with Classical programs of Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam performances to set the tone.  

The cultural program ran for about 5 hours packed with classical, folk, skit, fusion, vocal musicals and many movie song medleys.  

A special program designed for “Children’s Day” was well received followed by best of Bala-vinodam program. As the program moves on the Platinum sponsor “Global Intellectuals” was introduced and thanked for the support.

Rest of the programs were filled with popular move songs and kept the audience fully involved and was thoroughly enjoyable.

TEAM president Laxman Sunkam greeted the audience and explained about various TEAM activities like Ugadi, Sankranthi, Summer picnic, Volley Ball tournaments, Bala vinodam, Feed My starving Children, celebrity events and many charitable programs.

He also explained about partnering and collaborating with fellow organizations like MATA, IAM, Hindu Temple, SV Temple, Chinmaya Mission, ATA, TANA, NATA, and T.A.T.A. for community events.

He presented “Nadu – Nedu – Repu” with all past presidents and current committee and 2016 executive committee as well. It was good show with about 12 past presidents greeting the community as TEAM felicitated them and thanked the community for continued support.

TEAM Treasurer Chittam Reddy presented financial report while TEAM 2016 President Haritha Chimata introduced 2016 Board. Program continued with felicitation of Grand Diwali Sponsor “Reddy Foundation and SV Temple”.

Mr. Madhu Reddy also announced Scholarship for Literature completions which were to be held in March 2016. 

Program almost came to conclusion with vote of thanks, recognizing all the Participants,  parents, choreographers,  coordinators, volunteers and sponsors. Kadia Indian Kitchen, Event Sponsor Raffled Samsung Galaxy tab and Mini Tab and gift certificate. 

Program ended with DJ by Chai. The event is catered by Kadai Indian Kitchen and every one enjoyed the festivity dinner after the event.
