TATA maiden board meeting held at Dallas, TX

As the state of Telangana becomes a reality, the focus now shifts to promoting, preserving, perpetuating the heritage of the people of Telangana and Telugu origin.

Taking a cue an organization was established recently. Since its inception Telangana American Telugu Association has been in the forefront of community service, bringing cohesiveness and promoting the Telangana culture.

With over 50 events in the last 3 months the association is being accredited of satisfying community needs. As may be aware Telangana American Telugu Association was an astounding success with over 3500 people attending the launch of Telangana American Telugu Association on April 5, 2015 in New Jersey.

A glittering ceremony marked the inaugural board meeting of Telangana American Telugu Association in Dallas, TX where over 300 members converged the banquet night ahead of the board meeting.

The venue was Mayuri Indian Restaurant, where the Dallas leadership of Telangana American Telugu Association oversaw the logistics, Dr. Pailla Malla Reddy the Pharma giant from New York sponsored the banquet night and welcomed all to Dallas for the maiden board meeting of Telangana American Telugu Association. 

The debut board meeting saw people attending from various walks of life and eliciting their views. The meeting started with the Telangana state song being rendered by Srinivas Manapragada followed by opening remarks of Dr. Pailla Malla Reddy Chair of Advisory Council.

He welcomed the members and thanked them for being part of the board meeting. He envisioned Telangana American Telugu Association to be a service oriented organization with focus towards the state of Telangana. He requested the members to selflessly work and attain the set goals and objectives of Telangana American Telugu Association.

He then read the following names of board of directors and invited all members to take the oath. The oath was supervised by Mohan Patolla member, Advisory Council. The following board of directors took charge.

Jhansi Reddy, Mahender Musuku, Vikram Jangam, Srinivas Anugu, Bharath Madadi, Goutham Goli, Anil Arrabelli, Santosh Pathuri, Ramesh Chandra, Mahesh Adibhatla, Sudhakar Vidiyala, Sanjeev Reddy Bukka, Vijaypal Reddy, Vijay Chavva, Mahendar Kamireddy, Dr. Sreenivas Gangasani, Jagadish Bondugula, Rajesh Madireddy, Satyanarayana Reddy, Dr. Damodhar Reddy Kumbala, Malla Reddy Karra, Madhava Uppugalla, Madhu Nyalapatla, Jyothi Reddy. Mahesh Bigala and Suresh Sandiparla were appointed as International Vice-Presidents, while Dwarakanath Reddy was appointed overseas coordinator. 

Jhansi Reddy being elected as first woman president of Telugu American Telugu Association, creating history of sorts and took charge of the proceedings. Addressing the gathering of over 200 members, Jhansi Reddy in her maiden speech as President declared that she will work selflessly and uphold values of ethics and the constitution. She wished to see more women representation in the board and requested all members to support her presidency.

She thanked Chair Dr. Malla Reddy Pailla, Advisory Council members, and others for resting trust on her and letting her spearhead the organization. She outlined her vision for the next two years where a strong emphasis was laid on accentuating community service and promoting culture. She said under her leadership there will be: 

Telangana American Telugu Association community outreach for Telangana and Telugu families in North American, 
Promoting youth by involving them in Telangana American Telugu Association activities, 
Inducting members of over 5000 in the first year of operations, 
Telangana American Telugu Association journal that outlines various welfare, socio-cultural activities that will be undertaken,
Telangana American Telugu Association Seva Days to be held either annually or biennially in the state of Telangana

The board then elected the Executive team. The following members were elected unanimously:

Mahender Musuku, President-Elect
Vikram Jangam, Secretary
Srinivas Anugu, Executive Vice-President
Bharath Madadi, Executive Director
Goutham Goli, Treasurer
Anil Arrabelli, Joint-Secretary
Mahesh Adibhatla, Joint-Treasurer

The board later appointed Standing Committee Chairs, Regional Vice-Presidents and Regional Coordinators.

Many directors and Telangana American Telugu Association members occasioned their views unequivocally to strengthen Telangana American Telugu Association and to ensure that Telangana American Telugu Association works for the cause of Telangana and Telugu community in North America and the Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The meeting was later adjourned by President Jhansi Reddy.
