Opinion: Guard Your Speech MP

The comments made by TDP MP Maganti Murali Mohan were absolutely derogatory on how women need to be dressed.

The comments came from the MP when the parliament was discussing about “rape and atrocities on women”.

The MP was a bit “shaken” when Times Now journalist questioned what you mean by “to be dressed in a dignified manner and do you need women to go back to medieval age”.  Not knowing what to say the TDP MP stumbled saying “Sampradaya Dustulu”.

The concavity and convexity of the TDP MP was clearly exposed first when he commented in the parliament and next when he tried to minimize the damage control by apologizing and redefining what he said, respectively.

Immediately Times Now TV channel took no time in debating this in the Prime Time News Hour with Arnab Goswami.

The first blow came to TDP MP from Amalapuram Dr. Ravindra Babu Pandula, trying to defend his counterpart Maganti Murali Mohan, was in total disarray, by the questions put forth by the Times Now Anchor.

There was a time when Arnab was rubbing his forehead not knowing what Dr. Pandula was talking. The anchor openly put a chair in the News Hour asking MP Murali Mohan, if he had guts, to come to the debate.

The insult to the TDP MPs was just a taste of how powerful journalism and journalists can be; and when you talk in public domain, especially in parliament, you words need to be guarded.

But the damage had been already done from an altitude of MP to the depth of an insanity mindset by commenting on the dress code of women and what women should wear.

What was shocking was 95% of the parliamentarians were slow to react and the Congress firebrand Renuka Chowdary who always is opposed to the so-called Talbinization of women did not even comment on this.
