NATA Sponsors Amritavarshini Anthyakshari

North American Telugu Association (NATA) reached out once again to sponsor and to help conduct the (అంత్యాక్షరి) Anthyakshari celebrations to celebrate the anniversary of Amruthavarshini in Atlanta. Amruthavarshini (AV) is a well- known non-profit organization in Atlanta that supports Telugu literature and music by providing a platform for children and adults to participate and relish the warmth and beauty of Telugu culture.

NATA leaders Dr. Prem Reddy and Dr. Malla Reddy, the grand sponsors for the Anthyakshari event, have been actively helping thousands of people across India and US through their charitable activities. Under their aegis, NATA is gearing actively to celebrate its second convention on July 4th- 6th 2014 in Atlanta, USA., under the stewardship of president Dr. Sanjeeva Reddy.

The biennial NATA convention in 2014, is going to be a mega event of its kind where over 10,000 people of Telugu origin are expected at the GWCC Convention center in Atlanta downtown for the three day period. In addition, the convention will be transmitted LIVE through many leading TV channels to millions across US, Canada and India. All arrangements are in full swing to make the 3 day fun festival surpass all expectations and provide maximum value to all the people in attendance. Over 200 groups of committed volunteers across US, Canada and India are working tirelessly to ensure the event goes off smoothly.

The musical event (అంత్యాక్షరి) was superbly designed by Atlanta’s creative genius and literary doyen,Phani Dokka. Phani has a penchant for combining wit and wisdom and his multi-faceted skills in literature and music were aptly evident in the quiz competition that he generated. There were 11 teams that participated in the exciting fun ride in which they were challenged to think on their feet and discover the answers for the superbly innovative ways in which questions on Telugu film songs were aimed at them! If “dumb charades” were required to get to the song in some rounds, finding songs with a certain word in the “pallavi” was the challenge in some others. The 8 hour musical quiz competition continued with nail biting suspense and had all the thrills of a roller coaster ride. The audience were engaged completely in the fun and received several awards for their correct answers as well!

Phani and Bhanu Sri ably conducted the proceedings. Suvidha restaurant provided a sumptuous dinner and snacks for all at a very reasonable price. After 10 rounds of challenging competition, the following four teams have been declared as winners and will proceed to the grand finals at the NATA Convention. In addition, wild card teams were formed from the remaining teams in the spirit of engagement! The teams that made it to the finals are as follows:

First Prize ($500 and Trophies): Vinod Gandikota, Sandhya Eswara, Sunita Medarametla, Sushma Sarikonda, Uma Jamched
