It is still a taboo for many men to have drinks with ladies. And indeed ladies of these days are attempting to have taste of a peg or two in metro cities. But the union of men and women for drinks is a not an accepted thing yet.
When a group of ladies went to a dhaba at Medchal a couple of nights ago to have hot drinks or beer along with dinner, their desire didn't get fulfilled. They were made to sit along with families in family section amidst children playing and enjoying their ice creams and salads. But when the ladies enquired about the drinking scenario in lighter note with waiters they said, "Ladies! You will not have any problem and we assure you a peaceful dinner away from drunkard men who are sitting in a different lobby here. They will not have access to intrude this area" and smiled.
That made ladies dull and dejected and they couldn't ask if they can join with men for drink. They simply had their dinner and signed off for that day. Well ladies! The best places to have drinks are pubs but not dhabas.
