Dallas opens hearts and wallets for Chennai Floods via Volleyball

Players and enthusiasts proclaimed Dallas is not just a destination for sports and cultural contributions but have a BIG heart where necessitated.

The tournament was one of the best organized tournaments by few likely minded people and a hoard of volunteers.

19 teams with over 250+ players and volunteers participated in a tournament conducted with finesse and energetic attributions. The venue was the world class Sportsplex. Players showed what all termed paramount enthusiasm and discipline in every game.

The organizers felt the games were no less than world class type. The organizers ensured justice to budding teams and kept two formats so all players could enjoy the spirit of the game.

As some teams showed their zeal to win the games, some showed the essence of coming along as a team and participating in the fun filled tournament. The games progressed with full of exhilaration. Spikes, jumps, smashes immaculated the proceedings. Two formats allowed the players to have brim of excitement.

Talking to media later the organizers welcomed the players to the sporting tournament that was conducted for a social cause. They felt obliged to have received tremendous response where, Telugu people especially took the initiative and proclaimed they are with the Chennai people in times of distress. The organizers ensured all the money goes to the noble cause.

The organizers who led the cause in the forefront were Rajendra Madala, Murali Pallabothula, Raj Gondhi, Shaker Brahmadevara, Murali Kondepati, Mahesh Adibhatla et al. Community leaders NMS Reddy and others opined this is a great initiative to be on the side of Chennai when needed utmost!

Later the organizers handed over a check of $3001.00 check to Ram Kalpat who is coordinating efforts between Dallas and Chennai. The organizers then thanked the players who pulled off a tournament that was called upon in less than a week’s time.

A special mention was made to Covenant trophies who gave away trophies with no cost for the genuine cause. The following teams managed the cut.

Chennai cup (Level 2) taken by:
Winner – ‘Snipers’
Runners – ‘Vajras’
