ATA Kicks Off Silver Jubilee Celebrations

American Telugu Association kicks off Silver Jubilee celebrations during Bathukamma and Dasara Sambaralu in Dallas, TX

Being one of the oldest and most cherished organization has its own merits. Leaders, volunteers, a streamlined organizational structure and above all a promise to do good to the society.

Since inception the organization has been working for the welfare of the Telugus in North America. During the process the organization churned in great leaders, leading them in the forefront is Hanmanth Reddy from Chicago. 

American Telugu Association was formed in 1990 and ever since its being it only strived for the welfare of the society.

As the organization leads its way into 25 years of cultural and social presence, it wants to celebrate among the Telugu community and what better way than to kick off from Dallas, the cultural and social hub for the Telugu community.

Key leaders from Dallas Raghuveer Bandaru (SW Regional director), Indu Mandadi (Regional Coordinator), Mahender Ganapuram (Regional Coordinator), Arvind Reddy Muppidi (Board of Trustee), Ajay Reddy (Board of Trustee), Satish Reddy (2018 ATA Dallas Convention Convener), Dheeraj Akula (2018 ATA Dallas Convention Coordinator), Anant Pajjur (2016 Convention Adhoc committee member), Sandhya Gavva (ATA Past-President and 2016 Adhoc committee member), Geeta Dammanna, Madhavi Sunkireddy, Ashok Kondala, Venkat Musuku, Ashok Kondala, Raghuveer Maripeddi, Ram Annadi, Praveen Billa, Ganga Devara, Prabhakar Kuthuru, Sudhakar Kalasani, Kiran Kumar, Praveen Ekkati Pavan Kumar, Anand Kathroju among others met the national leaders Hanmanth Reddy, ATA President Sudhakar Perkari and discussed the various activities lined up for the next two conventions one among them in Dallas in 2018.

As the discussions progressed it was clear, to ensure the traditional arts, folklore and rural forms that are on the verge of extinct should be reinstated.

As a curtain raiser to the grandeur silver celebrations in ATA convention 2016, ATA Dallas is organizing Kolatam dance.

The Kolatam will display the rural and traditional form of arts followed by dinner. As the meeting concluded the entire ATA leadership shifted base to the biggest Bathukamma by Telangana Peoples Association of Dallas (TPAD) where Palla Rajeshwar Reddy felicitated Hanmanth Reddy and a brief biography was presented to the audience.

ATA president Sudhakar Perkari thereby requested all to converge to the 2016 ATA Convention in Chicago where the convention will culminate into silver jubilee celebrations. He announced a hoard of cultural, social and welfare programs between now and 2016.

The TPAD organizing committee felicitated the ATA leadership and thanked all for being part of the Bathukamma festival.

The ATA leadership felt enthralled looking at the Bathukamma and Dasara Sambaralu and opined Dallas has the social and cultural entity to carry such stupendous programs!
