ATA fund raising events collected $635,000

Philadelphia: American Telugu Association held fundraising event on Saturday, March 22, 2014 in Delaware valley and attracted more than 300 attendees and collected over $260,000 in donations.

Madhav Mosarla, Co-Convener welcomed the guests and followed by Parmesh Bheemreddy, Convener, thanked the guests and introduced President Karunakar Madhavaram to the guests.  President addressed the gathering and spoke about the goals of ATA and its direction in promoting Telugu culture and heritage. He stressed on the importance of the upcoming convention.

Similar fund raising event was held in New Jersey on March 16th at Royal Albert Palace in New Jersey and collected $375,000.

As part of collecting donations for the 13th ATA Conference, fundraising events are being held by ATA in various cities across North America.

ATA will benefit from the funds raised at these events; proceeds from these events will support the 13th ATA Conference & Youth Convention which is to be held from July 3rd to 5th at Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.

13th ATA Conference Convener Parmesh Bheemreddy explained the conference activities and invited the guests to attend. He introduced ATA-2014 Conference team Bhuvanesh Boojala, Madhav Mosarla, Krishna Dyapa, Balwanth Kommidi,  and organizing committees who are working diligently to the success of the conference along with visiting ATA leadership including past presidents Hanmanth Reddy, Sandhya Gavva, Srinivas Pinnapureddy, Rajendar Jinna, President elect Sudhakar Perkari garu to the audience. Mrudula Nudurupati served as the master of ceremony starting the evening's program.

Regional Coordinators Venkat Madipadaga, Govind Kondakindi thanked all the generous donors who came forward to support for the success of the upcoming conference.

ATA thanked Telugu Association of Greater Delaware Valley (TAGDV) for their support. TAGDV is the co-host for the 13th ATA Conference & Youth Convention.

On Saturday morning, ATA held its 4th board meeting at Doubletree hotel in King of Prussia, PA. In addition to the ATA trustees, Regional Coordinators, Standing Committee Chairs, and Advisors, many supporters from across the country including prominent Telugu personalities from the North East attended the board meeting.

Board meeting started with a prayer by Sandhya Gavva and welcome by secretary Ananth Reddy Pajjur. ATA Board of Trustees discussed on various matters, which includes on upcoming 2014 13th ATA conference at Philadelphia, PA, ATA Vedukalu in Andhra Pradesh and many other important issues. President Karunakar R. Madhavaram explained on various activities that were undertaken Women’s Day celebrations in various cities across America. Narendar Chemarla, ATA Treasurer reported to the board on the ATA financials for the last quarters. ATA Board unanimously selected Dallas as the venue for 15th ATA Conference which is to be held in Jul 2018.

Convener Parmesh Bheemreddy and Coordinator Bhuvanesh Boojala updated the board with the progress of the planning for conference and introduced various committee chairs/members to the board. Committees also briefed the board with their plans for the conference and board was very impressed with the enthusiasm and detailed planning of the committees.
